Hooper Knowlton is a Managing Director at DPRE and a member of the DPRE Investment Committee. He is a 42-year veteran of the real estate development industry. He has extensive experience in site identification and acquisition, planning, zoning, municipal approvals and entitlements and the financing of real estate projects.
Hooper has an expertise in repositioning and the development of environmentally impaired “Brownfield” real estate and has remediated and repositioned in excess of $450 million of Brownfield projects in Utah and California – encompassing 7.8 million square feet of industrial and multifamily developments. Mr. Knowlton’s experience ranges from high density, TOD multifamily development, National Historic Register nominated properties, office and industrial parks, neighborhood retail shopping centers and residential single family homes and condominiums. Mr. Knowlton’s projects have won both national and regional design awards from the NAHB, Professional Builder Magazine, PCBC Golden Nugget Award, the National Trust for Historic Preservation Award, the ABC Excellence in Construction Award, and the Green Partners in Urban Design Award.
Mr. Knowlton attended the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and was awarded a National Foreign Defense Scholarship at Stanford University in Japanese. He graduated from the University of Utah’s Honors Program with a degree in U.S. History, and a minor in Finance.
